House & Kick-Start Academy Coordinator

Amherst Soccer Association is looking for a volunteer Board member to lead the administrative coordination of our House Soccer and Kick-Start Academy (KSA) programs.

The House & KSA Coordinator plays a central role in making sure our recreational soccer programs are organized, staffed, communicated, and providing a great experience for players and families.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and conduct formation of House teams and player rosters.
  • Recruit and support volunteer coaches.
  • Help coaches understand schedules, program expectations, and available resources.
  • Serve as a key contact for House and KSA parents.
  • Help coordinate uniform distribution and other preseason activities.
  • Maintain a presence at House games and KSA sessions as necessary to help ensure game days run smoothly.
  • Support a positive environment for ASA’s youth referees.
  • Help coordinate the administrative side of House and KSA, including communication, volunteer needs, attendance, equipment, and program logistics.
  • Monitor enrollment and help identify opportunities to grow and improve ASA’s recreational programs.
  • Participate in the House Committee (monthly) and ASA Board meetings (usually second Thursday of every month, in the evening).
  • Attend other associated ASA meetings and events as necessary.

What the Role Looks Like

This is a hands-on volunteer Board position with a seasonal rhythm.

The busiest periods are immediately before a new House session begins, when teams are being formed and coaches recruited, and during the first few weekends of each session. Throughout the season, the Coordinator remains connected to coaches and families and helps resolve issues as they arise.

You do not need to be a soccer expert or experienced coach to be successful in this position. Strong organization, communication, responsiveness, and a willingness to work with families and volunteers are necessary for this role.

We’re Looking for Someone Who Is

  • Organized and dependable.
  • Able to use Google Workspace / Microsoft Office software and tools.
  • Has strong Excel and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with parents and coaches.
  • Able to manage multiple activities and deadlines.
  • Willing to be visible and involved during House and KSA sessions.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working as part of a Board and committee structure.
  • Interested in improving the experience of ASA’s recreational players and families.

Why This Role Matters

House Soccer and Kick-Start Academy are the entry point to ASA for many of our families. This position has a direct impact on whether players have a team, coaches feel supported, families receive good communication, and kids have a positive soccer experience.

Interested in helping shape the future of recreational soccer at Amherst Soccer Association? We’d love to hear from you.
