OUTDOOR House (Recreational) League Rules

Game Formats:  below

 

1. 8U Boys and 8U Girls Divisions - Birth Years 2016-2017 Game Format

  •  4 v 4 (no Goal Keeper)
  •  # 3 size ball
  •  Encourage players to play in a SQUARE - 2 UP, 2 BACK -move as a unit to stay connected
  •  Everyone attacks, everyone defends. 
  •  Players should not stand planted in front of goal - players cannot stand in the arc or goal box in front of the goal
  •  Only players pursuing a ball should run through the arc or goal box, if painted on field
  •  On goalkick - the opposing team must retreat to their own half of the field
  •  3 - 15 minute games with 5 minute rotation time
  •  No score is kept
  •  Rotation will be CLOCKWISE to next higher field (1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 1).  ASK REF FOR ROTATION -Home team rotates
  •  Restarts after goal will be center kick-off
  •  Substitutions on any stoppage of play. Equal play time per player
  •  Restarts are all by Kick In, All indirect free kicks, No penalty kicks
  •  Goal Kicks: from the arc or box or several feet in front of the goal

Game day format and Reminders for players

  •  All players should bring both jerseys
  •  COACHES - Please assure field is free of debris and hazards and sand bag is anchoring the goal
  • (The Coach will determine home and away players)
  • Coaches - PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW PARENTS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 4 FIELDS.  Perimeter seating only.
  •  Players need to wear shin pads under their soccer socks
  •  Please bring your water bottle with your name on it to have accessible during the games
  •  Away team should plan to carry their water bottle with them from game to game
  •  Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to start times. Start games promptly after 5-minute warm-up
  •  At the end of the games, please gather for any team snacks/drinks away from the playing fields to allow next games to start

2. 10U Boys and 10U Girls Divisions - Birth Years 2014-2015  Game Format

  •  7 v 7 including goalkeeper
  • #4 size ball
  •  4 - 12 minute quarters
  •  5 minute break between halves; 2 minutes between quarters
  •  COACHES - Please assure field is free of debris and hazards and sandbags are anchoring goal
  •  Substitutions on any throw-in, goal kick, or center kick-off
  •  On ANY GK handling of ball - opposing team must retreat to their own half of the field to allow restart
  • NO GK PUNTING ALLOWED

  •  All players should play all positions. Equal playing time per player
  •  Bring both jerseys in case one team is short players
  •  Throw ins: 2 attempts allowed, All indirect free kicks, No penalty kicks

3. 12U Boys and 12U Girls Divisions - Birth Years 2012-2013 Game Format

  •  9 versus 9 including goalkeeper
  • #4 size ball
  •  2 - 35 minute halves
  •  5 minute break between halves
  •  COACHES - Please assure field is free of debris and hazards and sandbags are anchoring posts
  •  Substitutions on any throw-in, goal kick, or center kick-off
  •  All players should play all positions. Equal play time per player
  •  Bring both jerseys in case one team is short players
  •  FIFA RULES - standard soccer rules.  No second chance throws

4. 14U COED Division - Birth Years 2010-2011 Game Format

  • Coed 11 v 11 or 9 v9
  • # 5 size ball
  •  2 - 35 minute halves
  •  5 minute break between halves
  •  COACHES - Please assure field is free of debris and hazards and sandbags are anchoring posts
  •  Substitutions on any throw-in, goal kick, or center kick-off
  •  All players should play all positions. Equal play time per player
  •  Bring both jerseys in case one team is short players.
  •  FIFA RULES - standard soccer rules

5. High School COED Division - Birth years 2006-2009 Game Format

  •  11 versus 11 including goalkeeper (or 9 v9)
  • #5 size ball
  •  2 - 40 minute halves
  •  5 minute break between halves
  •  COACHES - Please assure field is free of debris and hazards and sandbags are anchoring posts
  •  Substitutions on any throw-in, goal kick, or center kick-off.
  •  All players should play all positions. Equal play time per player.
  •  Bring both jerseys in case one team is short players.
