Field Use Policy
The following guidelines should be strictly adhered to when using soccer fields for practice:
The North French Soccer Complex,Clearfield Rec Center, North Amherst Rec Center, Billy Wilson Park and Paradise Park are the only dedicated Town of Amherst fields for ASA. All other locations are on a seasonal permit basis and change from time to time. Sharing of space is critical. No one has a right to reserve a field or refuse to share. This is necessary due to the number of teams, games and practices conducted during the travel season. Park and field space in Amherst is very limited and we cannot do anything to solve that issue. If you see other sports using Paradise, NF or Clearfield, ask them to leave and notify us. They have no access to the soccer complexes.
Nets are not necessary for practice. There is adequate green space throughout the town to conduct a practice by setting up cones. For ages U8 thru U12, most of your practice should be focused on ball control, dribbling and marking and shooting should not be a major focus. The following list of locations are approved for practice UNLESS the coordinators have informed you that the permits were not approved:
If you are approached by another sport to move (i.e.: baseball) because they have a permit for preferred usage at that time, please comply with their request. Some locations listed also are used for High School sports who have preference (i.e.: Maple East is used for JV Soccer and JV Lacrosse, fall/spring respectively, until 630P.M. each weekday).
REMEMBER: NONE OF THE FIELDS BELONG TO ASA. WE ARE GUESTS AND NEED TO CONDUCT OURSELVES PROPERLY BY REMOVING ALL TRASH EACH TIME WE USE A FIELD AND COMPLYING WITH THE RULES AND WISHES OF THE VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS THAT ALLOW US TO USE THEIR PROPERTY.
