INDOOR House Rules

U8 Rules and Procedures:

  1. -4 v 4 with NO Goalkeepers.  Please encourage the children to play in a square shape- everyone attacks, everyone defends.  BALL IS PLAYED OFF WALL AND IN PLAY AT VG
  2. -do not instruct a player to stand in front of the goal and not move.
  3. -all restarts are played as kick-ins, no throws.
  4. -corner kicks allowed
  5. -goal kicks - place ball 3 large steps out from goal, have player take run at ball to kick
  6. -no scores or standings are kept
  7. -encourage playing all positions
  8. -if you do not have enough players, borrow from the other team.  it is all about playing
  9. -WATER ONLY allowed on the surface, no snacks, no food
  10. -games are 25 minutes running time.
  11. -two games played per session

U10-12-14(COED) INDOOR Rules:

5 v 5 with Goalkeepers (OR AS MODIFIED EACH SEASON BY THE COORDINATORS). Sometimes, we may shift to full-field play instead of third or half field.   This will be similar to FUTSAL

BASIC RULES OF FUTSAL

5 players versus 5 players, one of which will be a Goalkeeper. It is expected that each player will have to take a turn being Goalkeeper. 
  • Subs on the fly, like hockey

  • No offsides

  • No goalkeeper punts, ball must stay below head height, otherwise possession and a free kick will be awarded to the opposing team

  • No slide tackles, players must not go to ground to steal possession back

  • No Throw-ins from the sidelines. Instead ball is placed on ground and passed in to a teammate with the foot

  • Free kicks and corners the opposing team has to be minimum of 5 yards away from the ball

  • With a penalty kick, all players behind the ball except for the penalty kicker
